About to sound like a total newbie here, but why does my 2018 Winnebago Spirit's Onan 4KY-26100R generator start perfectly then instantly die when I release the start switch? I suspect it's the oil pressure sensor based on what I've read, but want to confirm this diagnosis before ordering parts. Oil level appears normal. I've tried locating the oil sensor near the oil filler tube on the crankcase, but it's difficult to see or reach. Is there a way to test if the oil pressure sensor is actually the problem? Already standing in the RV service bay staring at a $1400 evaporator replacement quote for my 2002 Pace Arrow with Triton V10 with no clue if that's highway robbery or fair. Tech says evaporator, dryer, and expansion valve all need replacing. Quoted $1400 for parts and labor, says it's an 8-hour job because of dash removal.

Is this price reasonable for this type of repair? What should I expect to pay for parts vs labor on a dash-intensive AC job like this? …more

Finally got a 2019 Ford E450 and I'm upgrading from AGM to lithium batteries but can't figure out if I need a DC-DC charger. Now I'm seriously considering ditching my AGM 12V batteries for the shiny new lithium upgrade on my E450 chassis.

The thing is, I've got a decent 200 amp alternator already installed, and I'm wondering if that's enough muscle to properly charge lithium batteries, or if I need to add yet another gadget to my ever-growing collection of RV electronics. Do I really need a DC-DC charger for this upgrade, or can my alternator handle the job? My wallet is already crying from pricing out lithium batteries, so I'm hoping to avoid another expensive add-on if possible! …more

Woke up this morning hoping my 1995 F53 motorhome with the 460 7.5L would run smooth after replacing the ignition control module yesterday, but it's still stalling randomly. It keeps stalling every time I come to a stop - literally dies on me at around 5mph just as I'm braking. The power steering goes out and it's a real struggle to get stopped safely.

I can restart it immediately and it runs fine as long as I keep giving it gas, but this happens at EVERY stop sign and red light. Currently, it won't start at all - just cranks with no spark. I previously had an EGR code 334 that went away after replacing the EVR sensor.

My fuel pressure gauge was showing 30-32 psi at idle and about 40 psi at wide open throttle. When I tested the vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator, no fuel spilled out and the pressure didn't change.

I've already replaced many parts (including distributor cap, plugs, wires, EGR valve, ICM, fuel pressure regulator) with only 2,000 miles on them. I discovered that swapping the ignition control module seems to temporarily fix the issue - it starts with a new ICM but dies when I return to the original one.

I'm really concerned about potential highway driving with these intermittent starting problems. Is this a common issue with these 460 engines? …more

Already dealing with contaminated fuel issues in my diesel RV after three days of heavy rain at our campground caused sputtering and power loss. When it clogs your filters and you're stuck roadside, what's the actual process for changing diesel fuel filters away from home? The big issue seems to be priming - at home I can prefill filters from a jug, but that's not practical on the highway.

Three dashboard warning lights are lighting up on my 2018 Tiffin Phaeton 380 Cummins whenever the parking brake engages while running. Worse yet, the engine immediately goes into limp mode and won't rev past idle. Even after releasing the parking brake and the lights go out, the engine stays stuck in limp mode until I restart it. This is really frustrating because it happens every single time I engage the parking brake.
