How to Replace RV Wall Art: 7 Lightweight Decor Ideas for Travel

Opened up my motorhome and I'm staring at this hideous generic wall art — but before I start ripping it down, would that void my interior warranty? Since I'm only using it for 20-30 days a year, I'm wondering about the best approach to personalizing my space. I've noticed these factory pictures are pretty standard across RVs, but I'm curious how others handle this.

I'm worried about damaging walls or creating safety hazards while driving. The current pieces seem attached with velcro or screws, but I'm not sure how to remove them properly. More importantly, I want to understand weight limits and what materials are safe for RV walls. When I tried hanging a regular glass-framed photo last month, it rattled terribly going down the highway - clearly not the right approach!

Have other RV owners, especially those who are full-timers or occasional campers, replaced their standard artwork? What's the best way to remove existing mounted pieces and replace them with lightweight alternatives that won't become projectiles when traveling? …more

RV Leveling Jacks No Power: Complete Troubleshooting Guide

Leveling jacks have zero power — hit the button and nothing happens. No motor noise, no movement, no indicator lights on the panel. Coach is sitting crooked at the campsite and I can't level it manually because the electric jacks are in the way of using blocks. …more

How to Convert RV Pull Light Switch to Toggle Switches - Step by Step

After getting quoted $180 to replace my sticky pull switch on my 2001 Monaco Knight dashboard, I'm wondering if I can just convert it myself to two separate toggle switches for the headlights and marker lights instead.

Before I start tearing into the dash wiring, I want to make sure I understand the proper approach for this conversion. I'm particularly concerned about getting the wire connections right and ensuring the new toggle switches can handle the electrical loads properly. The current pull switch seems to control both lighting circuits, so I assume I'll need to separate those functions when I wire in the individual toggles.

What's the correct procedure for converting from a single pull switch to dual toggle switches for headlights and marker lights? I want to make sure I don't create any electrical issues or damage anything in the process. …more

RV Electric Steps Won't Lock Extended - Troubleshoot Lock Switch & Control Board Issues

Noticed my 2008 Tiffin Allegro Bay 35 TSB electric steps won't lock extended and keep retracting when I close the door — tackling this Saturday, what should I prep?

I'm concerned this could be a safety issue, and I don't want to start taking things apart without knowing what I'm doing. Could this be the lock switch going bad, or maybe something with the control board? I have a multimeter but I'm nervous about testing electrical components incorrectly. What's the safest way to troubleshoot this problem? …more

Braun RV Lift Stops Halfway & Loses Power: Troubleshooting Guide

Starting to think my Braun RV lift is eating through battery power way faster than it should, dying completely halfway up every single time. We have a Braun lift on our converted shuttle bus, and I'm running into a frustrating problem that has me stumped.

The lift works fine going up and it folds/unfolds without any issues. But when I try to lower it, it consistently stops about halfway down and the control button completely loses power. The only way I can get it working again is to manually raise or lower it using the hydraulic manual override, then the power comes back.

I'm wondering what typically causes this kind of behavior? Is this likely an electrical problem, something with the hydraulic system, or maybe a sensor issue? I'd appreciate any troubleshooting tips since I'm not sure where to start looking for the problem. …more
