Coleman Mach 10 AC Motor Replacement - Shaft Too Long Fix

Apparently this Coleman Mach 10 AC motor replacement is eating through my entire weekend because the new shaft is way too long for my Winnebago Era. The new motor shaft is way too long compared to what I'm seeing in YouTube videos of other Coleman units. The old blower wheel is stuck tight on the original shaft too - thing won't budge!

Anyone dealt with this before? Do I need to trim the shaft somehow, or is there a better way to handle the length issue? And what's the trick for getting that stubborn blower wheel off without wrecking everything? …more

Jayco Greyhawk E450 AC Not Cooling: Intermittent Compressor Clutch Diagnosis

This compressor clutch for my Jayco Greyhawk E450's intermittent AC is going to cost me big — but am I even diagnosing the right part? The problem is specifically with the cooling function - the AC will blow ice cold air for about a minute or two, then the cooling suddenly stops even though the fan continues to run perfectly at all speed settings. After a few minutes, the cooling kicks back in again, then cycles off once more. This pattern repeats constantly while driving.

I've noticed that the fan motor and all the controls are working flawlessly - I can adjust from low to high speed without any issues. It's purely the cooling/compressor function that's acting up. The system isn't completely dead, which makes this even more puzzling. I suspect this might be related to the compressor clutch since the cooling cuts out so abruptly while the fan keeps running normally.

What should I be checking to diagnose this intermittent compressor clutch behavior? I want to understand the most likely causes and the proper diagnostic steps before taking it to a shop, since intermittent problems can be tricky for mechanics to reproduce and fix. …more

Country Coach Allure Radiator Fan Replacement: Complete Parts Sourcing Guide for RV Owners

This scorching desert heat finally killed my 2001 Country Coach Allure's radiator fan, and now I'm completely lost on where to find a replacement. I know these aren't your typical RV parts you can grab at Camping World, but I'm not sure if I should be hitting up truck stops, RV dealers, or what.

Anyone know the best places to source these fans? I'm guessing it depends on what chassis and engine I've got under there, but honestly not sure what info I need to gather before I start calling around. Also wondering if this is something I can tackle myself or if I should just bite the bullet and pay someone to handle it. …more

Freightliner Cummins 6.7 Fan Hub Bolt Failure: Complete RV Repair Guide

Despite having a well-maintained 2008 Winnebago with a Freightliner chassis and Cummins 6.7 engine, the fan hub bolts keep shearing off. My fan hub actually just sheared the 4 mounting bolts and fell off, which I've read is a fairly common problem that can cause serious damage.

I'd really appreciate some guidance on what I should be doing to prevent this from happening again. Are there specific maintenance steps I should be taking? Should I be checking these mounting bolts regularly, and if so, how often? I've also heard something about using different grade bolts or thread locker - is that something I should consider?

Any advice on preventing this issue would be incredibly helpful. I'd really like to get some supporting documentation to help me potentially get Freightliner to address this recurring problem. …more
