How to Fix Intermittent Cruise Control on Damon Daybreak F53 Chassis -

Standing here staring at my 2009 Damon Daybreak F53 that's 15 years old and starting to have intermittent cruise control failures — should I repair or replace the system? The dash light doesn't come on when I press set, and cruise won't engage. Previous owner spliced the red wire from an aftermarket trailer brake controller into a wire in the steering column. When I fiddle with the brake controller or jiggle that connection, cruise sometimes starts working again.

Can I safely disconnect the brake controller's red wire from the steering column to fix this? Will the brake controller still work if I remove that connection? …more

Class A vs Class C RV: Complete 2024 Buyer's Guide & Size Comparison for Beginners

Staring down the RV lot this Saturday — should I be zeroing in on Class A or Class C models for my first purchase? I'm located in Georgia and looking for a Class A or Class C motorhome in the 28-33 foot range, with specific needs for my situation.

I keep reading that Class A RVs have more space and amenities, which sounds appealing since I want things like a king bed, a 30x36 shower, and room for recliners. But I also hear that Class C motorhomes are easier to drive and get better gas mileage, which might be important since I'm not super confident behind the wheel of a big rig yet.

I'm debating between diesel or gas engines, and whether to look at pre-covid models from established brands like Newmar and Tiffin, or newer options from Entegra and Coachmen. My budget is flexible, but ideally under $100,000.

I'm planning to tow a mid-sized SUV and take both short weekend trips and longer cross-country adventures, and I'll need space to store my recumbent trike. Would really appreciate some guidance on which type would be the better fit for my situation and skill level. Should I prioritize the extra space or the easier driving experience? …more

How to Install Brake Controller on 2025 Thor RV Ford Chassis - Step by Step Guide

Found myself staring at my 2025 Thor RV Ford chassis this morning, realizing I'm still missing that brake controller I should have installed months ago. I know I need some kind of brake controller to operate the trailer brakes safely, but I'm honestly not sure where to start.

I've heard that Ford chassis might come pre-wired for this, but I don't really know what that means or what brake controller brands work best. Could someone walk me through what I need to look for and how this whole installation process works? Any guidance would be really appreciated! …more

2008 Monaco Diplomat Class A Purchase Guide & Inspection Tips

Despite eight years of faithful service, our 40-foot destination trailer is starting to feel cramped — time to upgrade to a Monaco Diplomat motorhome or keep making do? We've found a 2008 Monaco Diplomat 40SKQ that's caught our attention - it has 66,000 miles and appears to have been well cared for by the current owners. They've shown us receipts for major maintenance items completed in the past couple of years, including some engine work and chassis updates. Coming from the towable world, we're not sure what specific things to look for when evaluating a Class A purchase. What should we focus on during our inspection, and are there any known issues with this particular Monaco model and year that we should be aware of? …more
