Dometic 8300 Series Awning Torsion Assembly Replacement Guide (834AV44

Already burned through three Dometic 8300 torsion assemblies in six months and I'm hemorrhaging money as a new RV owner. The model number is 834AV44.138 and I'm not even sure what series this is - is it part of the 8300 series maybe?

The torsion assembly lever broke off and I can't seem to find exact replacement parts anywhere. I'm wondering if there are compatible parts from other Dometic awning models that would work with mine? I don't want to order the wrong thing and make the problem worse. Any guidance on finding the right replacement parts or temporary fixes would be really helpful! …more

Coleman Mach AC Leaking Water Inside RV: Complete Troubleshooting Guide to Stop Drips

I'm planning my weekend getaway when I spotted water dripping from my Coleman Mach air conditioner model 49003A879 that definitely wasn't there yesterday. I'm in Myrtle Beach, with super humid conditions (90s with crazy humidity) and getting pea-sized water drops falling from the ceiling vents at maybe 2 drops per minute, which doesn't sound like much but it's making puddles on my floor.

I've been keeping the main ceiling vents mostly closed to push more air to the back of the coach. Climbed up on the roof expecting to find some fancy drain pump or tubing system, but honestly don't see much of anything obvious.

Is this just how these Coleman units work, or am I missing something? Really hoping this isn't a 'deal with it' situation, but wondering if my closed vents are screwing up the airflow or if there's actually a drainage problem I need to fix. …more

How to Install Heavy Battery in Ford F53 Chassis: Step-by-Step Guide Without Injury

Group 31 AGM battery weighs 75 pounds and sits in the worst possible spot on my F53 chassis — wedged behind the step well with about 4 inches of clearance above it. Last time I changed it I nearly threw out my back. There has to be a safer way to swap these heavy batteries. …more

How to Replace Kwikee Super Slide II Drive Wheels - Step-by-Step DIY Repair Guide

Planning to tackle my Kwikee Super Slide II drive wheel replacement myself versus paying a shop $300+ after they started making that awful metal-on-metal chattering noise. I've found pieces of old rubber near the slides where it's completely broken off the wheel cores.

I've looked into replacement OEM parts which cost around $75 per wheel, and I would need 8 wheels replaced. I've discovered a DIY repair method using a PMC-790 urethane rubber kit that could potentially fix this for much less. The total repair materials cost me about $134, compared to $600 for new wheels.

My repair process involved creating custom molds using 2-inch PVC test caps, 2.5-inch and 5/8-inch hole saws, and mixing urethane rubber in a specific 2:1 ratio. I even added blue colorant for fun. Has anyone else tried a similar approach to restoring these drive wheels? …more

How to Remove Dometic 10 Gallon Water Heater from Class A RV (Without

Turned on my water pump this morning and there's that unmistakable musty smell wafting from behind the fridge where my 1999 Class A's leaking Dometic 10-gallon water heater sits. I've got the mounting bolts out and can wiggle it a bit, but can't pull it far enough to get at the water and propane connections on the back.

Really hoping I don't have to yank the entire refrigerator just to swap this thing out! I'm thinking maybe I could disconnect the propane line from the front and push it through, but those water lines are probably gonna be the real problem. Has anyone figured out a way to get these units out without the massive headache of fridge removal? Maybe working from the exterior compartment somehow? …more
