Despite my RV mechanic insisting I need a completely new 4R100 transmission for overheating, shouldn't I install a temperature gauge first to verify what's really going on? I can't seem to find any factory temperature sender on this transmission - am I missing something obvious?

I'm nervous about drilling into the pan or tapping into lines since I don't want to create leaks or cause more problems than I'm trying to solve. I found three different "experts" telling me three different causes for my 2006 Damon Challenger's parasitic battery drain - neighbor blames the converter, dealer says bad fuse, YouTube points to inverter. I've traced it to the instrument cluster fuse, and Thor doesn't have schematics for this model due to its age.

I'm not even sure if it's actually the instrument cluster itself or something connected to it - could it be the transmission temp sensor, engine temp sensor, or other wiring? I really don't want to damage anything expensive or create a safety hazard. What's the safest way to diagnose and fix this without causing more problems? Standing in front of a 2015 Winnebago Vista V-10 that pulses during acceleration — should I walk away or is this worth buying and fixing? My 2015 Winnebago Vista with the F53 chassis and V-10 engine developed this awful pulsing problem during acceleration after driving through mountain passes in Montana. It feels like the engine is cutting out then surging back - not rough idle or jerking, just this frustrating loss of power that comes and goes.

I've tried everything I can think of - checked vacuum hoses, inspected connections, even tried fuel additives thinking it was bad gas. The diagnostic scan only showed one code: "Fault received from External Node" which apparently relates to the instrument cluster, but the tech had no clue what that actually means or if it's connected to my acceleration problems.

What could be causing this pulsing issue on a V-10 after mountain driving? I'm hoping someone has seen this before because I'm running out of ideas and really need to get this figured out before my next trip. …more

Looked everywhere online but still trying to decide between a fuel pump issue or ECM problem for my 1989 Ford Tioga 460 EFI that won't start after jumping the dead battery. The RV ran smoothly for weeks until I had to jump-start it after leaving lights on overnight. After the jump, the engine fired but immediately died - completely different behavior than its previous reliable starts.

The engine will only stay running when fuel is manually added to the intake, suggesting a fuel delivery problem. Prior to this incident, the fuel system worked flawlessly. The timing correlation between the dead battery jump-start and the fuel system failure seems significant.

What are the most likely causes when a 460 EFI system loses fuel delivery immediately after a battery jump? Could the jump-start procedure have damaged fuel system components, and what should I check first in the fuel pressure circuit? …more
