Spent the weekend camping only to have that piercing beep from my Girard GG1000 awning motion sensor going off constantly in the wind. I have a 2025 Tiffin Wayfarer with a Girard GG1000 awning and I'm trying to install support poles and a sunshade, but this darn motion sensor keeps retracting the awning every time I get near it or try to attach anything.

I've looked through the manual twice and can't find any clear instructions on how to temporarily disable the motion sensor. I know there has to be a way to turn it off so I can actually use my awning accessories without it constantly thinking something's wrong and pulling itself back in.

Does anyone know the exact steps to disable the motion sensor on the GG1000? I just need it off long enough to get my support poles and sunshade attached, then I'd like to turn it back on for normal operation. …more

Called around to shops about my 2019 Forest River Cherokee's gray tank drain crawling—what used to take 5-10 minutes now drags on for 30-45 minutes. The black tank still drains at normal speed, so I don't think it's a problem with the main sewer connection or hose.

I'm wondering what typically causes gray tanks to develop drainage problems over time. We do a lot of dishwashing in the RV and I'm thinking maybe grease or soap buildup could be creating blockages somewhere in the system. The flow starts out okay but quickly reduces to just a trickle, even though I know there's still plenty of water in the tank.

What are the most common culprits behind slow gray tank drainage, and what's the best approach for diagnosing and fixing these flow issues? I'd rather understand the root causes and proper solutions before I start taking things apart or using harsh chemicals that might damage the system. …more

Every time I open my RV door these Kwikee steps stay stuck at 90% retracted — should I drop $300+ on replacements or try fixing first?

I'm pretty sure this is either a motor that's given up the ghost or something's binding up in the linkage, but I'd love some confirmation before I start throwing parts at it. Should I be checking for 12V at the motor first, or am I overthinking this? And while we're at it, any preventive maintenance I should do to keep this from happening again? Standing in front of a 2015 Winnebago Vista V-10 that pulses during acceleration — should I walk away or is this worth buying and fixing? My 2015 Winnebago Vista with the F53 chassis and V-10 engine developed this awful pulsing problem during acceleration after driving through mountain passes in Montana. It feels like the engine is cutting out then surging back - not rough idle or jerking, just this frustrating loss of power that comes and goes.

I've tried everything I can think of - checked vacuum hoses, inspected connections, even tried fuel additives thinking it was bad gas. The diagnostic scan only showed one code: "Fault received from External Node" which apparently relates to the instrument cluster, but the tech had no clue what that actually means or if it's connected to my acceleration problems.

What could be causing this pulsing issue on a V-10 after mountain driving? I'm hoping someone has seen this before because I'm running out of ideas and really need to get this figured out before my next trip. …more
