My RV roof has had this squishy soft spot right next to the roof vent ever since we got hammered by that nasty rainstorm last month. When I step on that area, it feels spongy and I can tell there's water damage underneath the rubber membrane.

I'm pretty sure water has been leaking through the vent area and rotting the plywood underneath, which seems to be about a hand-sized area. I want to cut the rubber membrane back, replace the damaged wood, and then reseal it properly.

Should I be worried about the structural integrity? What type of materials should I use for the replacement wood, and how do I properly reseal everything to prevent this from happening again? Before the summer heat kicks in, my 20-year-old Norcold absorption refrigerator only stops cooling when it's above 85 degrees outside — works perfectly fine the rest of the time. I've been tracking its performance with a recording thermometer for 5 days.

Here's what I've observed:
- Cooldown takes about 4 hours
- Freezer varies between 0 and 5 degrees
- Every ~24 hours the unit shuts off to defrost, heating to about 20 degrees
- Time to warm from 5 to 20 degrees is around 1.5 hours

I changed the temperature setting from 7 to 5 on day 3, which seemed to affect the temperature. The refrigerator section is hovering between 30 and 35 degrees during this time.

Is this temperature pattern normal for an absorption fridge, or does this sound like something that needs to be fixed? I'd really appreciate some guidance from more experienced RVers about what these temperatures might indicate. …more

Our RV refrigerator has completely lost its mind — it's turning our milk into ice blocks and freezing our lettuce into green popsicles. Even cranked to the "warmest" setting, this thing treats everything like it belongs in the freezer section.

The freezer compartment is working perfectly normal (of course), and I've already checked the thermistor which seems fine. But clearly something is controlling the temperature wrong because I'm pretty sure my eggs shouldn't require an ice pick to crack open.

What actually controls the main fridge temperature in these rolling iceboxes? I need to figure out what's making my refrigerator think it's auditioning for a role in Frozen. …more

Somewhere under my RV sofa at 11 PM I found these mystery heavy-duty metal brackets — need to identify them before tomorrow's trip. They look substantial and professionally made, not like random hardware.

I'm concerned these might be critical safety components that should be installed somewhere - maybe for the slides, stabilizing jacks, or furniture mounting? The last thing I want is for something to fail while we're traveling because I left essential parts sitting in storage. Noticed a crack spreading across my fiberglass roof near the front cap after last month's hailstorm. Water is starting to seep in around the edges and I know if I don't fix this soon the whole roof deck will be rotted by next season. Pulled into camp yesterday and spotted fresh oil weeping around my Dana Super 70 pinion seal - now I'm wondering if this needs immediate attention. Not full-on crying tears of gear oil onto my driveway (thankfully), but definitely looking a bit moist around the edges.
