DIY RV Basement Door Paint Repair: Complete Guide & Cost Analysis

Despite protecting my RV all winter, those brutal summer months have absolutely destroyed the paint on my four basement doors and rear wheel area across 2' x 20', leaving me staring at a $5,000-6,500 shop estimate versus DIY with my compressor. I've never done automotive paint work before. Could I really achieve decent results for under $500 like I keep reading online? I'm concerned about proper paint matching, whether I'll damage the surface during prep, and if I choose the wrong spray gun or technique.

Has anyone successfully tackled RV exterior panel paint repair as a DIY project? I need reassurance that this is actually doable without professional training, and guidance on the complete process from start to finish. …more

RV Heater Lines Reversed: How to Diagnose and Fix Hot Dashboard Air

Dashboard vents are blowing hot air even with the heater off and the AC running. Drove three hours in 95-degree heat with hot air hitting my face the whole time. Mechanic says the heater hose lines might be reversed from a previous repair job. …more

Ford V10 Motorhome Weak AC Airflow - Blend Door Actuator Fix Guide

About to dive into the dashboard of my 2001 Rexhall Roseair Mod 3655HLDS built on a Ford V10 chassis — would this blend door actuator repair be covered under any extended warranty? The cab air conditioning system seems to be working - the compressor kicks on, the system is properly charged with refrigerant, and I can hear the blower fan running and changing speeds when I adjust the controls. However, even on the maximum fan setting, there's barely any airflow coming out of the vents.

I've researched potential causes specific to this model: Does this Rexhall have a cabin filter? Where is it located? I've heard about potential issues with directional flow doors blocking airflow - how can I access and check these? Other potential causes include clogged intake air, blocked fan wheel, or a plugged evaporator coil. Where are these components located, and how can I inspect or clean them? I have evacuation equipment, vacuum pump, and gauges ready to help diagnose the problem.

What's the most common cause of weak airflow on this specific Ford V10 chassis motorhome when everything else seems to be functioning? …more

Winnebago Vista 35 Only Defrost Vents Working - HVAC Fix

Since my Vista 35's HVAC only blows through the defrost vents and I can't drop $200+ on a service call, any DIY fixes under $50? No matter what I do with the controls, air ONLY comes out of the defrost vents at the windshield. I can't get any airflow to the dash vents or floor vents - it's like those options don't even exist anymore.

I've tried every combination of settings on the control panel, turned the system off and on, even disconnected the battery overnight thinking it might reset something. The air conditioning and heating work fine temperature-wise, but I'm stuck with just defrost no matter what. This is driving me crazy and making the RV really uncomfortable!

What could cause the airflow to get stuck on defrost mode like this? I really need to get this fixed before our next trip. …more

Damon Daybreak Wiring Diagrams: Complete Guide to Finding Electrical Solutions

I spent all winter looking forward to camping season, but every spring when I pull my 2001 Damon Daybreak out of storage, those same electrical gremlins start haunting me again. The dash AC isn't working properly and I think I need to trace some wiring to figure out what's going on.

I've been searching everywhere but I'm not sure where to get the proper wiring diagrams for this model. Should I be looking for RV-specific diagrams, or is the dash AC part of the Ford chassis system? I'm a bit confused about what's considered "coach electrical" versus automotive on these units.

Any guidance on the best places to find these diagrams would be really appreciated - I don't want to start poking around without the right documentation! …more
