Noticed my 2013 Newmar still rides incredibly rough through every crack and pothole even after replacing all six air bags. The ride height was never adjusted after the air bag replacement, and I'm worried I might be causing more damage or creating a safety hazard.

I upgraded from a Super C expecting a much smoother ride with the air suspension system, but this feels just as jarring. Am I missing something critical with the suspension setup? Called Power Gear support and they said press retract after leveling, but my system deployed perfectly and now just sits there doing absolutely nothing. The system appears to receive the retract command since I can hear some activity, but the legs remain extended. The only way to get them up is by engaging the transmission which triggers the emergency retract function.

I need a systematic approach to diagnose this retraction failure. What are the most likely causes when Power Gear levelers deploy normally but won't respond to the retract command, and what's the proper troubleshooting sequence to identify whether it's a solenoid valve issue, wiring problem, or control module failure? …more

I replaced my 2006 Dutch Star height valve but the front air bags still won't inflate, the valve seems stuck, AND the whole front end is sitting way too low. The air pressure gauges look totally normal, but when I try to air up the front bags, they just won't fill up. Instead I'm hearing this whining noise and air is literally coming out of the height control valve exhaust port.

It's like the system thinks something's wrong but I can't figure out what. The bags themselves seem fine, and there's definitely air pressure in the system. What would cause the height valve to dump air instead of letting the bags inflate? This is driving me nuts! …more

Around 85°F, my 2008 Tiffin Phaeton with Atwood Levelegs refuses to fill the airbags for leveling — works perfectly in cooler weather. The coach is sitting low and I can't get it to fill the airbags properly. One of my leveling jacks isn't working right now.

Are the Levelegs and air suspension connected systems? What should I check to get my coach to raise up so I can drive safely? Is this something I can troubleshoot myself or do I need professional help? …more

Replaced the wheel alignment on my 2018 Class A motorhome and now the steering wheel is sitting crooked — should I fix it myself or go back? I have an RV with an F53 chassis, and after getting an alignment, my steering wheel sits crooked when I'm driving straight - it's off by what looks like 30-45 degrees to the right. The RV tracks straight down the road just fine, but having to hold the wheel at an angle is driving me absolutely crazy on long trips.

I know this chassis uses an older steering system similar to what was used in the 1920s, and from what I understand, the drag link isn't adjustable. I've already installed a big steering stabilizer, but I'm concerned about how this offset might affect the steering box's performance. The steering shop seems busy, and I'm worried they'll just brush me off or charge me again. Is there a good way to center the steering wheel without major mechanical intervention? My F-53 motorhome still bounces like a trampoline over every bump despite replacing the shocks, checking alignment, and rebalancing the tires. I have a 1995 F-53 motorhome that's been in Arizona its whole life, so thankfully no rust issues.

I keep seeing posts about people replacing leaf springs on much newer rigs, and it's got me wondering if I should be doing the same. My coach is 30 years old now, but honestly I don't see any obvious sagging and the springs look okay to my untrained eye. I do have some worn bushings that I'm planning to replace.

What are the actual warning signs that leaf springs need to be completely replaced? Am I missing something obvious, or could my old Arizona springs actually still be fine? I don't want to spend money I don't need to, but I also don't want to ignore something important for safety. …more

Nobody told me that mismatched jounce bumpers on my RV's airbag spring assist could be dangerous, but now I'm worried with my kids traveling. After receiving a replacement air spring from Airlift, I discovered it's the Ultimate model with an integrated jounce bumper, while my existing undamaged bag does not have this feature. This creates a mismatched setup - one air spring with jounce bumper, one without.

My operational parameters are consistent: I maintain air pressure in both bags at all times and never run them empty. Given that the bags remain pressurized, the jounce bumper should theoretically never contact or engage during normal operation.

Between storage seasons and spring startup, my 2006 Southwind with Ford Triton V10 keeps developing the same parasitic draw that kills my battery. After sitting a few days, battery drops to 11.3V. Main symptom: when I turn key off and remove it, power still flows to dash gauges. Needles flicker and I hear buzzing for several seconds after key removal.

I replaced the cruise control contact ring on my 2000 Itasca's F53 chassis twice now — would this repair be covered under extended warranty? I've discovered it uses some kind of 3-pin contact ring system under the steering wheel instead of a proper clock spring (because of course Ford had to be different).

I'm pretty sure one of the contacts looks bent - either from age or from me aggressively mashing buttons trying to get it to work like some kind of RV caveman. Before I start taking apart my steering wheel and inevitably lose three screws that apparently don't exist anywhere else in the universe, does anyone know if these contact rings can actually be repaired? Can you just straighten bent contacts, or am I looking at replacing the whole thing? …more
