Already cleared my Saturday schedule to swap out this Sony VCB-62MH RV camera monitor — what tools and prep work should I have ready beforehand? The Sony VCB-62MH rear view camera monitor in my 2008 Phaeton finally died, and of course Sony doesn't make them anymore. I've been searching everywhere for a replacement but everything I find is either way too big for the existing dash opening or doesn't work with the Sony cameras that are still perfectly fine.

I really don't want to replace the entire camera system - that would cost a fortune and the cameras work great. I just need the monitor replaced. Has anyone successfully found a workaround that reuses the existing Sony cameras and wiring? I'd love to keep the automatic switching feature for the side cameras when using turn signals if possible, but at this point I just need something that works and fits in the dash opening. …more

Planning to replace the tires on my 2019 Tiffin Phaeton 40IH, and ever since I started getting quotes, everyone keeps suggesting Toyo as a cheaper alternative to Michelin.

I'm honestly a bit overwhelmed by all the tire choices and wondering if I'd be making a mistake switching brands. Will Toyo tires give me the same ride quality as the Michelins? I've heard you can save quite a bit of money, but I don't want to compromise safety or comfort since we're still learning how to handle this big rig.

Around 85°F, my 2008 Tiffin Phaeton with Atwood Levelegs refuses to fill the airbags for leveling — works perfectly in cooler weather. The coach is sitting low and I can't get it to fill the airbags properly. One of my leveling jacks isn't working right now.

Our 2013 Phaeton's Coleman AC remote sensor is throwing wrong resistance readings and I've got my multimeter ready to fix this myself — just need the correct values to check against. The remote temp sensor in my living area started reading 99°F constantly, so I checked the resistance and found it was only 9kohms while the working sensor reads 90kohms at 82°F.

I ordered the replacement part 8330-3101 (which supposedly replaces my old 8330-309), but I'm worried because the new sensor ALSO measures 9kohms right out of the package - exactly like my "bad" one. I've tested both thermostats and they work fine when I swap the sensor leads.

I'm hesitant to install this new sensor since the resistance seems wrong. Could I damage my thermostat or AC system if there's a compatibility issue? Should I be measuring resistance differently, or is there a wiring problem I'm missing? I don't want to make things worse by installing the wrong part. …more

I keep hearing different brand names thrown around but honestly have no clue which ones give you the most bang for your buck in that mid-range luxury space. Three dashboard warning lights are lighting up on my 2018 Tiffin Phaeton 380 Cummins whenever the parking brake engages while running. Worse yet, the engine immediately goes into limp mode and won't rev past idle. Even after releasing the parking brake and the lights go out, the engine stays stuck in limp mode until I restart it. This is really frustrating because it happens every single time I engage the parking brake. We're currently 170 miles from our usual service center and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Spent months dealing with minor SCR issues on my 2014 Tiffin Phaeton, but now it's escalated to a full system replacement and this SPN 1569 check engine light. About 150 miles later got SPN 411 FMI 2, then after 600 more miles got yellow check engine light with SPN 1569 FMI 31. Engine cycling cleared the code and light went off. Cummins said 1569 is engine protection and 411 is erratic values. RV runs fine with no performance issues. I need to drive 1100 miles home next week - is it safe to make the trip? …more
