M156 vs M154 RV Tires: Safe Substitution Guide
I'm planning to swap my M154s for M156s, but my RV mechanic claims I need to replace all four tires instead of just making the switch. My RV currently has M154 tires in size 265/75R22.5, but my tire dealer can only get M156 tires in the same size and load rating before my upcoming trip. The M156 appears identical except it has two center ribs instead of three in the tread pattern. Both are the same ply rating and meet the same load requirements.
