How to Fix Peeling RV Seat Upholstery: Repair Options & Costs

Last time I looked at my 2013 Georgetown 335DS front seats there's faux leather flaking off everywhere like the outer layer is just disintegrating. I've tried conditioning treatments but nothing seems to help.

I'm hoping this isn't going to be a huge expense, but I need to know my realistic options here. Should I expect any warranty coverage on something like this, or am I on my own? I've heard about seat covers, reupholstery, or maybe even replacing the whole seats, but I have no idea what any of this costs or what makes the most sense.

What's causing this deterioration in the first place, and what are people actually doing to fix it? I need real solutions with honest cost expectations - this RV is otherwise perfect and I don't want crumbling seats ruining the whole experience. …more

How to Remove RV U-Shape Dinette for Reupholstering: Complete Guide

Last weekend I got my tools out and I'm ready to tackle removing this U-shaped dinette from my 2013 RED QRA 38 myself to fix the peeling leather — just need the best starting point. Got the straight sections out fine, but the curved bottom piece won't fit through the door even broken down to three pieces. It's stapled together and possibly glued.

What are my options for getting this curved section out? The upholstery shop doesn't want to work inside the RV. Is there a way to separate the frame further or do I need to consider other removal methods? …more

RecPro Fake Leather Sofa Repair vs Replace Guide

Standing here staring at my cracking 70-inch RecPro Charleston faux leather sofa in my Newmar, wondering how their manual claims 7-10 years when mine's failing at four. We're not full-timers - maybe 4-5 weekend trips per year max, so this thing has barely been used. Now the fake leather is flaking off everywhere and seams are splitting open. RecPro wants $500 just for a replacement end section, which seems crazy expensive for furniture that's falling apart this quickly with such light use. Is there any way to fix this myself or should I just cut my losses? Really disappointed since we barely used the thing and expected it to last way longer than this. Any advice on whether these RecPro pieces are worth investing repair money into or if I should just look for something else? …more
